Meet our Founder
Veronica Juarez
I am the founder of California Abilities in Action, a new nonprofit organization in the Coachella Valley. My commitment to this work began in 2005 with the birth of my son who has Down syndrome. He introduced me to a world filled with both extraordinary beauty and unexpected challenges. I discovered how limited the support systems were for parents who, like me, were navigating unfamiliar and overwhelming circumstances. My experience revealed a gap in education, advocacy and accessible resources.
Motivated by my son and our firsthand experience, I started California Abilities in Action dedicated to bridging those gaps. Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling independent lives. We seek to provide families the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to effectively advocate for their loved ones.
My hope is that no parent feels alone and no individual feels unseen. Together we will build a more inclusive future where every person’s potential is honored and celebrated.
